eTime "iPads for Alternative Learners"
All around New Zealand iPads are being used in classrooms to engage and motivate students. Alternative learners require more than just motivation: they need ways to remove barriers to assist them to access the curriculum.

Round two of the “iPads for Alternative Learners” workshops will focus on assisting students with reading, researching and presenting information. It will focus on the iPad as a digital reading platform, and for planning and presenting creative ideas. Each workshop is a one-day course that runs between 9am – 3pm. Multiple dates have been scheduled for the larger centres.

These workshops have a clear focus on:

• effective pedagogy;
• hands-on, practical learning;
• collaboration, sharing expertise and experiences;
• working within a context relevant to participants’ own schools.
